Description
The VMPMK3 is a permanent, composite wood-concrete bat box, suitable as a maternity box for the common pipistrelle. The box is designed to meet the requirements of the BIJ12 Common Pipistrelle Knowledge Document. It can be installed in masonry or behind other facade cladding.

Tip: place a maternity box in a sunny position, as high as possible (at least 3 metres) and with clear space underneath.
Combining
Each item in the VMPM series is a separate product. The VMPMK3 is a composite set that already meets the requirements of the Common Pipistrelle Knowledge Document, so you do not need a separate base box or extension. The box consists of six basic elements that are placed together in the correct configuration on site. Please note: the break-out walls have not yet been removed, allowing bats to move between the sections through these openings. You choose an entrance stone separately: VMPM4 (105 mm), VMPM4a (50 mm) or VMPM4b (30 mm). Smaller composite alternatives are the VMPM1s and VMPM2s.
Installation
The box is designed for installation in masonry in two ways: flush with the masonry, directly in the visible part of the facade, or set back slightly and covered with stone strips. It can also be installed behind other facade cladding. Distribute the boxes across multiple orientations and locations, along roof edges and ridges.
