Roof edge installation for late-flying bats VML2 – bat box for roof edge | Unitura
Description
The VML2 is a permanent roof edge roosting box for late-flying bats and common pipistrelles. It is a roosting box without a back panel that you place directly against the exterior wall in the roof edge; the bats crawl inside via the rough facade. Because the box becomes part of the facade, it stays in place for years.
- Specially designed for the late-flying bat as a small summer roost in the roof edge
- White Rockpanel front that blends neatly into the facade
- Easy to join or cut down to the desired length
- Durable and difficult to remove, making it suitable as a permanent roosting box
Tip: place a foam strip at the joint to prevent drafts and water ingress from above.
Placement
Place roosting boxes as high as possible, at a minimum height of 3 metres, preferably along roof edges and eaves. Distribute the boxes across different wind directions and ensure there is free space below the box so that the animals can fly in and out unhindered.
