Description
The HMT1 is an FSC plywood house sparrow nest box, specially designed to mitigate the loss of house sparrow nesting sites. It can be easily hung on a wall using the two screws supplied. Great tits and other tits also like to use the box.

Tip: hang the box at a height of at least 3 metres on a north- or east-facing wall, or under a gutter, and leave a distance of 50 cm between the boxes.
Placement
Place the box at a height of at least 3 m, preferably near the gutter. House sparrow boxes work best between 3 and 12 metres, with the roofline (approx. 6 m) being the preferred position and greenery within 10 metres. Do not hang the box in the sun: choose a north-facing or east-facing position, or a place under the gutter. As a guideline for compensation or mitigation, provide two replacement nesting sites for every lost nesting site, with a distance of at least 50 cm between the boxes.
