Window birdhouses

No garden or simply want to watch birds from up close? With a window bird feeder, you bring nature within just a few centimetres of your sofa, kitchen table or desk. Attach it to the outside of the window with suction cups, without any screws or drilling. Ideal for an apartment, balcony or anyone who finds it difficult to get out into the garden.

In this collection, you'll find window bird feeders in a variety of designs: transparent acrylic or plastic models, glass feeders from Eva Solo, window silos for seeds or peanuts, a window suet holder, window hooks and a wooden window feeding table. Choose from brands such as Esschert Design, CJ Wildlife, Born in Sweden, Bolmsö, Elho, Wildlifeworld and Buzzy Birds.

Which window bird feeder is right for you?

Transparent bird feeder: offers an optimal view of your visitors and often features a removable tray for seeds.
Window silo: keeps a larger supply of seeds or peanuts dry and dispenses them automatically.
Window hook or window hanger: for hanging a small bird feeder, suet ball or peanut butter jar by the window.
Design models: made of glass or available in a variety of colours for those who also want something beautiful to look at from inside.

Tips for secure attachment

Clean the window and suction cups thoroughly and remove any grease before attaching the feeder. A slightly damp suction cup often adheres better. Choose a window that is not exposed to direct midday sun and check the suction cups occasionally, especially after a cold night. This will keep your window bird feeder securely in place.

What food should you use?

Tits, sparrows and finches enjoy sunflower seeds, seed mixes and shelled peanuts. Top up with a small amount regularly to keep the food fresh, and clean the tray regularly. It may take a little while before the first bird dares to land, but once it does, you'll have a regular show on your windowsill.
