Unitura
Unitura: craftsmanship in nature-inclusive construction
A swift that returns to the same facade every year. A colony of house sparrows chirping under the eaves. A maternity colony of common pipistrelles roosting unseen behind the masonry. At Unitura in Rijssen, everything revolves around that one moment: the moment a building becomes a home for nature again. With years of experience in nature-inclusive construction, Unitura develops faunal facilities that are architecturally refined, highly durable, and ecologically well-thought-out.
Designed to blend into the architecture
At the heart of the collection are the built-in facilities: nest boxes and roosting sites that can be incorporated into the masonry, cavity wall, facade insulation, ridge, or eaves. They are made of wood concrete, a breathable, moisture-regulating material with a long lifespan and fire class A2. Once installed, they are barely noticeable on the facade. If you finish them slightly recessed, they can even disappear completely behind stone strips or plaster. This way, you combine aesthetics and ecology without compromise.
A suitable solution for every species
- Built-in swift boxes: from the compact GZP2 for narrow cavity walls to the GZP3 for facade timbering and prefabricated walls.
- Built-in house sparrow boxes: suitable for colonies, with comparable dimensions so you can combine them in a single row with other species.
- Built-in bat boxes: the modular VMPM series allows you to combine base boxes, extensions, and entrance bricks into summer, maternity, or winter roosting sites, plus eaves and ridge facilities for late-flying bats.
- Starling, black redstart, butterflies and solitary bees: built-in bricks that follow the same facade line.
Permanent and temporary: complete for every project
In addition to built-in facilities, Unitura offers high-quality surface-mounted facilities made of wood concrete and FSC wood. These are ideal as temporary alternative roosting sites during demolition or renovation, or as a supplement where built-in facilities are not possible. For nature management and larger projects, there are boxes for little owls, common buzzards, peregrine falcons and kestrels, monumental house sparrow and bat houses, a kingfisher and common swift wall, and roosting boxes for polecats, stoats, stoats and stoats. The Insectenhotels Pro are designed for industrial estates and public spaces and can be personalized with your own sign if desired.
Nature-proofing, green facades and green roofs
Does a building need to be made nature-proof before renovation or insulation? With Unitura's deterrent materials, such as exclusion flaps, deterrent bristles and grip mesh, you can do this in a wildlife-friendly way. And for those who want to go beyond nest boxes alone, the Climbers® climbing aid system creates a vegetated facade or the EcoRoof cassettes create a biodiverse green roof.
Based on knowledge, made for practical use
Many Unitura facilities have been developed according to the requirements in the BIJ12 knowledge documents and the mitigation guidelines for building-dwelling species. This makes them ideally suited for compensation and mitigation in new construction, renovation, and sustainability projects. On the product pages, you will find technical data, installation advice, and, where available, dimension drawings, factsheets, specification texts, and IFC files for your BIM model.
