Bat House VMPM2u – 2-storey extension, wood-concrete construction | Unitura

The VMPM2u is a 2-layer wood-concrete extension box for the modular VMPM series of built-in bat boxes. You attach it to a base box to create a larger roosting space. The box is built into masonry or a facade made of wall panels or other cladding.

Tip: place the boxes as high as possible, at least 3 metres, and leave the area under the box clear.

Combining

Each item in this series is a separate product. The VMPM2u has no entrance opening of its own and is always an addition to a base box: VMPM2 (without entrance stone) or VMPM2e (with entrance stone). Place the extension next to or above the base box. With the VMPM2, you also choose an entrance stone: VMPM4 (105 mm), VMPM4a (50 mm) or VMPM4b (30 mm). On site, remove the breakaway walls on the connecting side with a hammer and chisel and place the boxes with the openings facing each other.

Placement

The box can be installed in masonry in three ways: behind the masonry with an entrance stone, in the masonry with a finish of stone strips, or flush with the masonry. Distribute the boxes across as many orientations and locations as possible, preferably along roof edges and ridges.
